Hoodlums have set fire to the family home of Kofoworola Babajide, the minority leader in the Osun State House of Assembly.
The legislator revealed this to reporters on Saturday in Ede, InsightnaijaTV reports.
Following their attack on him and a few PDP members during a ward meeting in the town on Friday night, Babajide claimed the thugs then went to his parents’ home in Ede.
The legislator revealed that his father has not been seen since the fire that destroyed his father’s home, and that this has caused alarm among the town’s citizens.
Babajide revealed that some hoodlums who were allegedly political thugs had earlier attacked some PDP members at the location of a ward he attended in Ede before setting his parent’s home on fire.
He said: “Some armed thugs attacked us during a ward meeting of PDP in Ede yesterday (Friday). After that, I left for Osogbo. Later, I was told that they were attacking my parents’ house. They burnt the house and since then, I have not seen my father.
“We don’t know if he’s burnt alive inside the house or they have kidnapped him.”
The Osun State Police Command has reportedly confirmed the occurrence subsequently, according to this news source.
The incident occurred on Friday night, according to Yemisi Opalola, the police public relations officer, who spoke with media on Saturday.
