Four people were killed in Anambra State on Tuesday as a result of indiscriminate attacks by unknown gunmen in various sections of the state.
A police officer and another person were found dead in a pool of their own blood in Ozubulu, in the Ekwusigo local government region.
Two brothers from the same family were also killed at the state’s Nnewi South local government area’s Ukpor hamlet.
The raging gunmen invaded the slain brothers’ home at 2 a.m. on Tuesday and shot Nnajifor to death before whisking his brother Godwin away to an unknown place, according to reports.
According to a family source, as they were waiting for a call for negotiation in the hopes that it was a kidnapping, Godwin Modobi’s distressed wife raised the alarm after seeing her husband’s lifeless body on social media.
The police, on the other hand, said that at the scene where the lifeless bodies of the two bictims were located, operators of the command recovered the remains of a police officer and another man, as well as a Toyota Camry car.
DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, the state command’s public relations officer, verified the event in Ozubulu but said the command had not yet been briefed on the attack in Ukpor town.
He said, “The command received a report of a trending video of two bodies discovered at Ozubulu, and operatives have been deployed to the area.”
According to the command, out of the two bodies, one was a policeman and another man whose identity cannot be ascertained while a Toyota Camry vehicle was also recovered from the scene.
