Armed Robbers on Wednesday morning broke into the Rivers State University, Port Harcourt, to rob the Polaris Bank located on the campus.
The robbers, who were reportedly dressed in police uniform, stormed the campus in the early hours after ordering the school’s security guards to open the university’s main gate.
The robbers proceeded to the motor park where the bank is situated after gaining entry.
They reportedly tied up the bank’s security guard and some drivers sleepiníg inside their passenger buses, before robbing the bank’s ATM and emptying the cash contents.
InsightnaijaTV learned the robbers did not have any challenge throughout the operation and escaped in one of the buses.
When contacted, the Spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, SP Nnamdi Omoni, said he was yet to be briefed about the incident.
Meanwhile, the management of Polaris Bank in Portharcourt is yet to disclose the amount of money carted away by the robbers.
