The screening committee of the All Progressives Congress on Friday, June 03, 2022 denied screening former President Goodluck Jonathan.
The Chairman of the screening committee, John Odigie-Oyegun, confirmed this on Friday when he submitted his report to the APC National Chairman, Abduallahi Adamu, at an ongoing meeting of the National Working Committee.
Odigie-Oyegun told journalists that contrary to news making the rounds, the former president was not at Transcorp Hilton for the exercise.
The 23 aspirants screened include the former Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba; Governor Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa; Robert Boroffice, the senator representing Ondo North; Uju Ken-Ohanenye, the only female in the race Nicholas Felix, a U.S based pastor; Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State; Tunde Bakare, a popular pastor; former Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State; former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu; former governor of Zamfara, Ahmed Sani; immediate past Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole.
Oyegun’s clarification followed reports that the party has pruned down the list of 23 presidential aspirants of the APC to 13.
