The Speaker of the Federal House of Representative Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has called on Nigerians to take appropriate retaliatory measures against Ghana and all other who trampled on the diplomatic rights and privileges of Nigeria and Nigerians in diaspora.
Hon. Gbajabiamila who spoke in the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Geoffrey Onyeama said that Nigeria cannot just remain silent to watch the assets and its citizen destroyed by citizens of their host Countries why Nigerians look for ways to make Brotherhood with the others.
Why reacting to the just demolished property under construction at the Nigerian High Commission in Ghana noted that the attack was a direct one on Nigeria as a sovereign Nation, noting that an embassy of a Nation is a replicated extension of her territory.
He added that the attack on Nigerians in other African Countries has become a reoccurring decimal that required a swift action.
The Speaker also stressed that many other countries in Africa are taken the liberty of other Nigerians while Nigerians intensified ways in which oneness of the Continent can be promoted.
The Minister of Foreign affairs Mr Geoffrey Onyeama who had earlier informed the House Committee on Foreign Affair which is headed by Mr Yusuf that diplomatic efforts had gone into resolving the issue and appeal to Ghanaian Government to bear the cost of rebuilding the demolished structure within a short period.
