Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has signed an agreement between the Kano government and the Medina Academy in Saudi Arabia for the physical training of 5,000 state teachers in Madina.

The council also approved the renewal of internet service, annual ICT equipment maintenance, and the deployment of Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) software at Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital, according to him.

The council also approved a N500 million counterpart money for the implementation of a six-year World Bank-funded project called “Agro Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL),” according to the commissioner.
The World Bank has granted a 700 million dollar credit for the ACReSAL project from the International Development Association in 2021.
According to Garba, the project aims to increase the adoption of climate-resilient landscape management approaches and improve livelihood in arid and semi-arid watersheds in northern Nigeria.
According to him, the project will build on the successes achieved in the state through the Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP).
The project will help northern Nigeria implement sustainable landscape management methods and boost the country’s long-term enabling environment for integrated climate-resilient landscape management.
