In separate attacks on two communities in the Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, North Central Nigeria, at least four persons have been killed and numerous homes have been set on fire.
According to reliable sources, bandits raided the villagers between Friday night and Saturday morning and carried out the killings and house burnings.
Yesterday, a woman was also murdered in the neighbourhood and two ladies were slaughtered in front of Yogbo Primary School (Friday). Sadly, the chairman of the (Guma) Local Government hails from the village.
“The attackers killed one person at Ukohol today Saturday, September 10, 2022. A villager related, “They also burned several buildings in several communities that were attacked in the vicinity. Other villages related how many had left the afflicted areas out of fear of such attacks.

In a text message, Mike Ubah, the chairman of the Guma LGA, confirmed the incidents:
“Four persons passed away. Three of them were killed at Yogboh, and the fourth was killed in Ukohor during the time period.
The spokesperson for the Benue State Police, Catherine Anene, did not answer calls or texts left for her regarding the event.
