Four of the remaining 11 schoolgirls who were among the students and teachers kidnapped by the bandits on June 17, 2021 when they stormed Federal Government College (FGC) Birnin Yauri in Kebbi have been freed.
According to Salim Kaoje, the spokeswoman for the parents of the missing kids, the four girls who were freed by infamous bandit commander Dogo Gide on Friday night are Bilha Musa, Faiza Ahmed, Rahma Abdullahi, and Hafsa Murtala.

11 of the students were held captive by the bandits while some of the abductees were released immediately after being taken.
Four of the girls were released to us after six days of discussions in the forest, according to Kaoje. Two of the parents of the remaining seven captive animals are still here.
Kaoje added that an undisclosed sum of money had been used by the parents to obtain the release of the four girls.
They sold their assets and set up a fundraising effort, which attracted a lot of Nigerians to help the parents out financially. According to Kaoje, the fate of the remaining seven girls is still up in the air, and their parents are pleading with the government and security services for assistance.
