Francis Arthur Nzeribe, a former senator, has died.
His death was revealed by his family on Sunday. His age was 83.
Nzeribe died at a foreign hospital on Sunday morning from an unexplained illness.
“He died this morning in a hospital abroad. The family will soon release a statement,” a family source told Sahara Reporters.
In 1999, Nzeribe was elected to the Senate to represent Orlu.
Before the military seized power, he also served as a senator in the second republic.
Anyim Pius Anyim, a former Senate President, banned Nzeribe indefinitely in November 2002 over allegations of N22 million fraud.
