The first group of Nigerians who had been trapped in Ukraine has arrived.
On Friday morning, 427 Nigerians based in Ukraine landed at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport.
Abike Dabiri, the Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, verified this in a tweet.
She said, “First Batch of Nigerians from #Ukraine arrived at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja from Romania at 7:10 am.”
She stated that efforts to evacuate the remaining stranded citizens are still in the works.
Another flight from Hungary is likely to arrive in Nigeria soon, according to the NIDCOM chairman.
