Mr. Tunde Hassan-Odukale was confirmed as the single-largest stakeholder by FBN Holdings Plc, the holding company of First Bank Nigeria Limited, on Wednesday.
As seen by InsightnaijaTV, millionaire businessman Femi Peter Otedola is the holding company’s second largest stakeholder.
According to First Bank, Hassan-Odukale owns 5.36 percent of the company’s stock, while Femi Otedola owns 5.07 percent.
FBN holdings stated that the two are the only individuals with significant shares in a letter to the Director-General of the Nigerian Exchange Limited.
The group defined “substantial shareholders” to mean “shareholders with 5% and above shareholdings”.
Seye Kosoko, the Company Secretary, wrote the letter in response to the NGX’s request for clarity on the reasoning behind Odukale’s ownership.
Hassan-direct Odukale’s interest in the bank is 26,231,887 units, while he indirectly owns 1,897,280,212 units in the financial Holding Company, according to the statistics.
According to First Bank’s annual report, Hassan-direct Odukale’s interest in FBN Holdings was just 8,854,003 units at the end of 2020, while his indirect holding was 360,961,091 units.
As of October 27, FBNH has 35,895,292,792 outstanding shares worth N418.18 billion.
