No fewer than two persons were reported dead and many others rescued alive on Sunday in an explosion which involves four trucks on Kara Bridge along Lagos/Ibadan Expressway.
The sad incident which occurred outward Lagos involves four articulate vehicles which were burn beyond recognition on the arrival of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, ( LASEMA).
The incident was attributed to the reckless driving by one of the drivers of the trucks, however, two of the trucks were said to carry a 33,000 liters of Premium Motor Spirit (Petrol) and another with compressed natural Gas.
The Director-General LASEMA, Dr. Oke Osanyintolu noted that rescue operations was completed in appropriate time and commended all other rescue agents such as Lagos Fire Service, Lagos Response Unit, UBA and Julius Berger Fire Safety teams for their swift response in combating the inferno in due time.
However, some Nigerians who ply the route on a regular basis urge the Ogun State Government and Lagos State Government to synergize to provide Fire station along the road in other to prevent such occurrence.
