Ayet-to-be-identified final year student of the Faculty of Business Administration, Rivers State University, has been reportedly gunned down in the university premises by suspected cultists.
InsightnaijaTV gathered the deceased was shot in the head while eating at a canteen within his faculty on Thursday.
According to an eyewitness who spoke to newsmen, “The deceased was eating in the company of some persons when three guys approached him.
“Upon leaving his seat to follow his visitors, one of the guys shot him in the head from the back.”
The sound of a gunshot made students at the canteen disperse in different directions.
The killers reportedly disappeared into the crowd of students but one of them was trailed and arrested by the school security.
When contacted, Spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, SP Nnamdi Omoni, confirmed the report and said “I have been briefed about the killing already and we have mandated the school authority to give us comprehensive details about the deceased to ascertain if truly his is a student of the institution or not.
“Meanwhile, the culprit has been apprehended and we will swing into investigation and apprehend the rest of his gang who are all cultists both the deceased.
“His corpse has been deposited at the mortuary and we await the management to avail the required information we need”.
