The Federal Government may today begin the trial of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on terrorist charges following his formal arraignment.
The Federal High Court in Abuja, where Kanu is expected to be arraigned, has been inundated with documentary evidence to be presented by the government.
Electronic equipment, including several cameras, has also been brought to court and is being examined by Mr Shuaib Magaji Labaran, the Federal Government’s main attorney.
Although Kanu has not yet been brought into the courtroom, his lawyers, led by Chief Mike Ozekhome, SAN, have taken their seats in anticipation of their client’s arrival.
Similarly, the Biafran leader’s family members, including a nursing mother, have taken their seats.
A representative of the British High Commissioner, who is supposed to be watching the trial for the UK, has also been allowed into the courtroom.
