The Federal Executive Council has approved the sum of 18.12 million dollars and another 3.255 billion naira, for the acquisition of scanning machines for use at the Nation’s seaports.
This was made known by the Minister of Finance, Budgets and National Planning, Mrs Zainab Ahmed, while briefing journalists, after the FEC virtual meeting, presided over by President Mohammadu Buhari, in Abuja.

According to the Minister, the Scanners would be used at Onne port, Port Harcourt port as well as the Tin Can Island port.

She however expressed happiness that with the facilities installed at the ports, the undue delays experienced through hundred per cent physical examination of goods, would become a thing of the past.
