Peter Ayodele Fayose, the former Governor of Ekiti State, has been mocked following the defeat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) nominee Bisi Kolawole in the Ekiti Governorship election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) proclaimed Abiodun Oyebanji the winner of the governorship race in Ekiti State in the early hours of Sunday.
In the election, Oyebanji, the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, received 187,057 votes after winning 15 of the state’s 16 Local Government Areas.
Segun Oni, the Social Democratic Party’s governorship candidate, finished in second with 82,211 votes, while Bisi Kolawole, the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship candidate, received 67,457 votes.
The election included a total of 16 contestants. There were 351,865 legitimate votes cast in the election, 8,888 void ballots, and 360,753 total votes cast.
Remember that Fayose nominated Kolawole as the PDP’s candidate in the election and fought to ensure that he won the party’s governorship nomination in the April primary election.
The emergence of Oyebanji as the new governor-elect, on the other hand, has sparked a flood of social media reactions, with netizens mocking Fayose for failing to work for the win of his preferred candidate.

I supported Segun Oni ticket from the beginning cos I was told he was the most popular aspirant in PDP but Fayose probably promised someone else the ticket since 2018. You can reward people with Assembly, Rep tickets but rewarding someone with guber ticket is ridiculous.
