The Minister of Power and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has appealed to youths to suspend the ENDSARS protest, and remain peaceful and vigilant while acknowledging the legitimate protest for reform of law enforcement.
Mr. Fashola, made the appeal when he visited the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in company of some Government officials and some Governors from the South-West, over the destruction of properties and social disorder the State experienced in the past days.
The entourage visited some of the scenes where property were carted away, destroyed and vandalized.
While commiserating with the Lagos State Government, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, a former Governor of the State, said that words were not enough to describe the extent of the destruction wreaked by the arsonists.
The minister who commended the Governor for his effort to restore peace in the State, urged all Lagos residents to unite and collectively address the cause of the violence, as the State Government needed the support of all in unraveling the truth.
Present were the Minister for Sport and Youth Development, Mr Sunday Dare, the Minister for Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and the Minister of Industry, Trade and Development, Otunba Niyi Adebayo.
Others were the Minister of State for Health, Olorunimbe Mamora, the Minister of State for Niger Delta, Omotayo Alasoadura, the Minister for Mines and Steel Development, Olamilekan Adegbite and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila.
