The Executive Chairman of Lagos Mainland Local Government, Hon. Mrs. Omolola R. Essien, distributed books to all 26 public primary schools in the LGA on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. This programme attempts to aid in students’ education and set them up for success in the future. Every year, the local government also provides free GCE and JAMB forms to help students advance their studies.
Hon. Mrs. Omolola Essien emphasised the value of education in her remarks and linked it to Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4), which is focused on universal primary education. More than a thousand elementary school students received free holiday computer learning programmes at two ICT centres from the local government, introducing them to computer knowledge and internet usage.

Additionally, the local government has significantly improved educational facilities, as evidenced by the renovation of Ijero Primary School’s classrooms, offices, and sick bay, which was just officially opened by Hon. Olawale Oshun.
