Elon Musk, a billionaire and the new president of Twitter, has announced a reduction in the monthly charge for Twitter verification from $20 to $8.
The fee will allow Twitter to compensate content creators, according to Musk, who revealed this in a series of tweets on Tuesday, November 01, 2022.

The billionaire promoted the advantages of having a paid verified handle, including priority in answers, mentions, and search, which he claimed would help combat spam and scam.
Musk also mentioned further benefits, like the ability for publishers to escape paywalls and the ability to post lengthy films and audios.
