Hafiz Bayero, a special adviser to Kaduna State governor, Nasir el-Rufai, has died in an accident on the Kaduna-Abuja Highway on Monday.
Details of the accident were still sketchy at the time of this report but a photograph of the accident scene obtained showed the extent of damage.
Bayero was said to be with his driver while returning from a trip to Abuja when the incident occured.
Though the State is yet to issue official statement on the incident, the Facebook page of Kaduna Market Development Company confirmed Bayero had an accident.
The company posted on Facebook: “Our Managing director, Hafiz Bayero actually had an accident with his driver today. But he is stable and gradually recovering.
“We pray that the Almighty grant him rapid recovery. We appreciate your prayers.”
