The Executive Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area, Lagos State, Alh. Monsurudeen Oloyede Bello today Sunday 24 May, 2020 wish all Muslim in Ejigbo a Happy Eid Celebration.
According to a statement by the Media Officer of the Council, Kunle Oladele, the Chairman commended residents of Ejigbo for their tolerance, peaceful conduct and support for his administration. He reinstated his continued commitment to his open door policy, all inclusive Governance and development of Ejigbo master plan.
In his words, “Being alive to witness this day, in good health, is a great opportunity, because a lot has happened in the last few months. COVID-19 has changed a lot of things, taken some lives and left some others isolated. I therefore use this opportunity to congratulate everyone who has made it this far. I say Eid Mubarak to all the Muslim Faithfuls in Ejigbo and the world at large. May our efforts be accepted by Almighty Allah, may all our sins be forgiven and may our final abode by Al-Jannatu Firdaus.”
Obe further charged residents of the Community to comply with Government directives on the use of face mask to flatten the curve of Covid 19 pandemic in the State. He however encouraged the Local Council residents to celebrate in their respective homes, with their families, so as not to become unnecessarily vulnerable to the COVID-19 pandemic. As always, prevention is better and cheaper than cure.
Obe expressed dismay that most people still feigned ignorance of the pandemic despite the devastating effects the virus has caused the Country and the world.
He insisted that all residents including all business owners, tricycle riders, as well as market men and women, must all embrace the use of face masks to stop the spread.
