Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information and Culture, has come under fire from Umar Sani, a former senior special adviser on media and publicity to Vice President Namadi Sambo, for saying that Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, is copying the economic strategy of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.
Sani, who revealed this on Arise TV’s Morning Show, criticised Mohammed’s claim as absurd and stated that he lacked original thought.
Atiku recently presented his economic plan at an event in Lagos, and Mohammed, meeting with journalists at the national press centre in Abuja, charged Atiku with mimicking the current administration under Buhari.
No one knows the plan that Atiku claims possession of besides the Federal Government, argues Mohammed.

Says Sani Lai Mohammed and APC talking about any economic plan is very funny and ridiculous. How has our economy performed for us to continue stealing their own blueprint when President Muhammadu Buhari’s term is practically about to come to an end? First and foremost, every economic indicator that should have been broken has occurred, and our economy is quite close to collapsing.
Even a recession is imminent. Once more, Nigeria was a popular investment location under the PDP. Investors are currently fleeing the nation. With regard to GDP, Nigeria led. During the PDP, Nigeria’s economy was running smoothly. The micro and microeconomic conditions were ideal, the currency rate was favourable, and still there will be discussion of someone taking your plan. Which plan do you have that is unable to change Nigeria’s economy and that is causing turmoil there?
They want to blame PDP for everything, but I believe they lack ideas and mental capacity. They typically blame PDP, so using this incident to claim that we stole their blueprint is just making fun of how well their budget is working.
