Hon. Linus Okorie, who represented Ohaozara/Onicha/Ivo federal constituency in the National Assembly, was declared wanted by the Ebonyi State Government on Tuesday for publishing an inciting article against the state on social media (Facebook).
According to the government, the article resulted in the beheading of an Ebubeagu Security operative (names withheld) in the State’s Ikwo Local Government Area.
Between 2011 and 2019, the member of the House of Representatives represented his district.
Barr. Orji Uchenna Orji, Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, and Barr. Cletus Afoke, Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, issued a joint press statement.
Umahi, who condemned the incident, said those involved in the killings will be made to face the law, irrespective of their positions in his government.
He also condemned the burning of the Akaeze Police Station and houses of the chairman of Ivo Local Government Area, Chief Onyebuchi Ogbadu, and those of other goverment personalities in the area
