Dowen College staff members in Lagos wore t-shirts featuring the face of Sylvester Oromoni, a 12-year-old pupil who died in dubious circumstances.
The school’s administration stated in a statement released on Wednesday that the College is devoted to justice and will continue to work with the appropriate authorities to ensure that justice is delivered.
The school, on the other hand, argued that Sylvester had suffered a leg injury, despite his family’s claims that it was much worse.
“We are distressed that a child sustained a leg injury and passed on a week later,” the school said while commiserating with the family of the deceased.
According to InsightnaijaTV, the deceased’s cousin, Perry Oromoni, took to social media to claim that some older college students assaulted him in his hostel room for refusing to join a cult.
The school, on the other hand, denied the claim, saying that the child had complained of leg and hip pain as a result of a football injury.
