On Wednesday evening, December 8, members of the Dowen College Parents Forum organized a candlelight parade in Lagos in memory of 12-year-old Sylvester Oromoni, a student at the school who died on November 30 after allegedly being abused by his seniors in the school dormitory.
The parents, who wore black tops with the words “Dowen Parents Mourn,” conveyed their grief over Sylvester’s death. They also urged that justice be served to the young kid.
According to Insightnaijatv, the deceased’s cousin, Perry Oromoni, took to social media to claim that some senior college students assaulted him in his hostel room for refusing to join a cult.
The school, on the other hand, refuted the claim, claiming that the youngster had complained of leg and hip pain as a result of a football injury.
The Lagos State Government has ordered the institution to be closed indefinitely in order to conduct a comprehensive investigation.
