Chief Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, a Yoruba nation agitator, has stated that because to his ailing health, he did not ask anyone to raise monies for him.
He was responding to a news report about his phone conversation, in which he asked for money from the public in the form of voluntary donations to assist him seek medical help.
Igboho, who is being held in a Benin prison, is said to be suffering from health issues. He was brought to the hospital.
Igboho issued a statement through his spokesman, Olayomi Koiki, urging those behind the movement to stop.
He used the opportunity to ask that the Benin Republic’s government allow him to fly to Germany for medical treatment.
The statement titled: ‘Chief Sunday Adeyemo has not asked for money towards his medical treatment’, signed by Koiki, said: “I have just received a message from Chief Adeyemo’ lawyer that I should inform the public that he (Igboho) has not asked anyone to demand money towards his medical treatment in Benin Republic.
“Information has it that some individuals have been collecting money for Igboho’s medical bill.
