The meeting between Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman Abdullahi Adamu, and five governors of the ruling party has been revealed.
InsightnaijaTV reports that Osinbajo met with Adamu and the five governors in Aguda House, the vice president’s official house.
The vice president met with governors and the party chairman, according to a White House official, to discuss with them ahead of the primary on June 6 and 7.
The person told The Punch that the Osinbajo campaign was looking for aspirants who would step down for vice president before of the primary.
He did, however, say that vice president Yemi Osinbajo had a good chance of being the APC’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections.
“The meeting was part of the pre-primary consultations. We were looking for somebody who would resign. “The VP’s chances appear to be good,” he remarked.
Dave Umahi (Ebonyi), Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti), Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa), and Dapo Abiodun (Nasarawa) are among the governors attending the meeting, according to the presidency official (Ogun).
