Aminu Tambuwal, the Governor of Sokoto State and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum, has revealed details of Atiku Abubakar’s Wednesday evening meeting with the party governors.
The emergency meeting, according to Tambuwal, was held to strategize on how to ensure the PDP’s triumph in the 2023 general elections.
After the meeting, Tambuwal told reporters that it was more of a consultative discussion.
The governors of Sokoto and the former vice president of Nigeria came to thank the party governors for their contributions to the convention.
Tambuwal said, “We talked about cooperation and collaboration in prosecuting a very successful electioneering campaign that will result in victories for the PDP at various elections from the state House of Assembly, national election, governorship and the presidential election come February 2023.
“It is more of a consultative meeting on matters concerning the way forward.”
Tambuwal also stated that the APC presidential candidate is still deliberating on his pick of Vice President.
he said, “it’s part of the consultation, it’s ongoing and governors are also being consulted on that.”
Governors Nyesom Wike of Rivers, Udom Emmanuel of Akwa-Ibom, Samuel Ortom of Benue, Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, and Seyi Makinde of Oyo States were all present at the meeting.
