In bid to cushion the effect of Covid-19 and to help revive small and medium scale businesses, the Management of Nasfat Agency for Zakat and Sadakat, NAZAT, has disbursed funds and equipments worth 40 million naira to less privileged people in the society.
Speaking during the presentation of items in Alausa, Ikeja area of Lagos, the National Missioner of Nasrul-lahi-il- fatih society of Nigeria, NASFAT, Imam Abdulazeez Onike explained that the essence of the distribution was to support the less privileged in the society irrespective of their religion,sex, age or tribe in as much such individual is investigated and truly in need of support.
He added that the initiative is in line with the H.E.L.D. (Healthy, Education,Livelihood, Dawah) policy of the society to provide succor for the less privileged and as redistribution of wealth among the needy.
He also enjoined the beneficiaries to make judicious use of opportunity gotten, especially at this challenging economic.
In his contribution, the Chairman NAZAT, Hafiz Bakare said that since the establishment of the agency in 2014, equipments and funds worth 300 million naira have been distributed so far to touch the lives of people in need.
He also encourage all other well meaning Nigerians to imbibe the act of giving charity to the less privileged people mostly at this period of time.
He further urge Nigerians to adhere strictly to COVID-19 safety protocols in other to curtail the spread of the disease.
Also speaking at the event, the National President of NASFAT, Alhaji Niyi Yusuf who was represented by the Women Affair Secretary, NASFAT, Mrs. Suwebat Bola explained that the act of Zakat and Sadakat (Charity given ) is one of the pillars in Islam and also commended the donors for impacting in lives of other humans as stipulated in the Holy Quran.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed their joy and gladness as they received their items.
Some of the items giving includes Industrial sewing machines, grinding machines, Laptop computers, generators, and lots of funds.
