The High Court in Ilorin has ordered a medical investigation of the wounds that four robbery suspects are said to have received as a result of police torture and gunfire.
When accepting one of the defence attorney’s two requests, the judge, Halimah Salman, stated that the decision was motivated by the necessity for a fair trial, transparency, and justice.

The judge denied the second request for an autopsy (post mortem examination) on the body of the late Michael Adiukwu after questioning whether the same decision could be made regarding the five Fulani men who were reportedly killed in their presence.
As a result, she postponed the case until the eighth of the next month while the defence attorney discussed the grant or denial of the applications.
