Cooperative Society has been described as a strong vehicle for promoting economic empowerment and
eradicating poverty among women and Youth.
Wife of the Kwara State Governor Dr. Olufolake AbdulRazaq stated this during an empowerment
programme to commemorate the 2021 International Coperatives Day held at the state banquet hall in
Ilorin.
Dr.Olufolake said Kwara State having a share of the effects of Civid-19 pandemic is leaving no stone
unturned to ensure that people of the state are not left behind in a bid to rebuild a post Covid World
that would be better together.
She said that the present administration in the State has evolved strategies to surmount the challenges
faced by women,youth and the aged through its various social investments schemes.
The schemes according to the Governor’s wife include kwarapreneur, kwara farms and the kwara State
social investment programs among others.
Dr. Olufolake advised the beneficiaries to use the starter packs presented to them to chart a new course
for their businesses to be self reliant and relate collectively to enable their businesses flourish.
Beneficiaries of the Twenty-twenty-one Kwara State International Coperatives Day were selected from
the three Senatorial Districts.
