Omega Fire Ministries International‘s general overseer, Johnson Suleman, has commented on the recent attack on a convoy in which several people, including police officers, were confirmed deceased after the attack.
Suleman described the incident as a “assassination attempt” in a video he shared on his Facebook page on Friday night. He confirmed that seven individuals had perished in the incident and expressed his sorrow for their passing, but he also predicted that the shooters would “reap what they sowed.”
Additionally, he made a passing mention of “certain things” occurring since 2017, which appeared to be allusions to the multiple sex scandals involving him.
“Since 2017, there have been some events about which I have remained silent. You won’t expose yourself to so many scandals, even if you were the most reckless person on the planet. Even though one or two people later used that opportunity to just come out and say one or two things, there are still things that people don’t know, he said.

“But the reason I’m coming out to speak now is because they’ve done all that and discovered that I’m still moving on. They’ve decided to make attempt on my life.
“I just escaped an assassination attempt where seven people were killed. My car was attacked — [they] opened fire on my car, and kept spraying it with bullets. My wife and my kids were there. The escort car, with some police, they killed the policeman, they killed the other people in the other escort car and the buses with us. Seven people — we were all moving in a convoy — were killed.
“People who did this are expecting me to come out, mention their names, so that they will come out and deny. I won’t do that. But the truth of the matter is this: you can’t kill me. My life is in the hand of God. I am a man of God.
“And those who are among those that are attacking me, you are building on what you don’t understand. You may have joined the fora because you want to chase clout, but you don’t know where the fight started from. There are things you don’t understand; you don’t have an idea of the beginning of what happened in 2017 — the people who are behind it. You may come and you are doing your own thing, but it is beyond what you are thinking.
“I am alive. For those who have been calling and all that, I am well; the family is fine. I feel bad for the lives that have been taken. We are mourning but Jesus is Lord. And for all those who they killed, may their souls rest in peace.
“And for the young men who open fire and keep wasting people, I won’t take your life. But the seed that you sow, you will reap it. I want Nigerians to know that a coordinated lie swallows an uncoordinated truth. With time, the truth will come out.”
Around 5 o’clock on Friday, when the preacher was returning from a foreign trip and travelling to a location in the state, gunmen opened fire on his convoy along the Benin-Auchi Road in Edo State.
