The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Atiku Abubakar presidential candidate’s convoy was allegedly attacked in a North-East state, according to the Borno State Police Command.
Atiku’s convoy allegedly came under attack on November 9 as he arrived at the Borno State rally venue, according to claims made by PDP chieftain and member of the party’s presidential council Dino Melaye. He also claims that “over 100 vehicles were allegedly vandalised by hoodlums from different political parties and about 74 persons were hospitalised.”

In response to this, ASP Sani Shatambaya, the state police public relations officer, remarked; “The news of the attack on Atiku Abubakar’s convoy was not only fake but a false and mischievous attempt at confusing Nigerians.
“There was no attack on Atiku’s convoy.”
A 32-year-old man named Danladi Musa Abbas was nonetheless brought before the police for “attempting to disrupt the escort of the presidential candidate on the way to the airport.”
The culprit was taken down with a stone, according to Shatambaya, and when he “saw the police, he raced into a church where he was detained.”
The command is looking for his other collaborators, the police official noted.
