West Ham United improved their chances of finishing in the top four with a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory over Chelsea at the London Stadium on Saturday. The Hammers came back from two goals down until a late Arthur Masuaku goal.
The victors took the win and put a four-point margin between themselves and Arsenal in fifth position.
Thiago Silva met Mason Mount’s outswinging corner with a solid header beyond Lukasz Fabianski with 28 minutes on the clock, bringing the game to life after a cagey start.
West Ham were granted a penalty 10 minutes later after Edouard Mendy brought Jarrod Bowen inside the box, and Manuel Lanzini made no mistake with a powerful finish.
Just before halftime, the visitors reclaimed the lead when Hakim Ziyech played a lofted pass to Mount, who was on hand to guide home a beautiful volley.
