Burkina Faso stunned the North Africans in the last eight, when their opponent scored a 45th-minute winner to separate the two teams.
Dango Ouattara, a teenager, scored the game’s sole goal but was later sent off in the 82nd minute, despite his team’s victory.
The 19-year-old intercepted Blati Toure’s through ball, fought off two players, and cut inside before scoring. Later, he was sent off for elbowing Ali Maaloul.
The Stallions, who have never won the competition, will face the winner of the other quarterfinal match, which will be played on Sunday between Senegal and Equatorial Guinea.
