President Muhammadu Buhari’s All Progressives Congress (APC) will remain in power beyond 2022, according to the Presidency.
President Muhammadu Buhari’s spokesman, Garba Shehu, expressed confidence that his boss would hand over power to another All Progressives Congress, APC-led government in 2023.
Shehu spoke to journalists after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday.
He was responding to reports that Buhari had postponed the issue of fuel subsidies until the next administration.
According to Shehu: “But she (the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Hajiya Zainab Ahmed) has answered you. Firstly, what this tells you is that the president is responsive and we are going to hand over to the next administration, APC, God willing.”
Zainab Ahmed, the Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning, has denied that the current government will eliminate fuel subsidies.
