President Muhammadu Buhari has been named the world’s 16th most influential Muslim.
Bashir Ahmad, the President’s Personal Assistant on Digital/New Media, announced this on his official Facebook page, noting that the President was named one of the 500 most powerful Muslims in the world this year.
He also included Aliko Dangote, the millionaire industrialist, Sa’ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, and Aminu Ado Bayero, the Emir of Kano.
Sheikh Ibrahim Saleh, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, and Sheikh Yakubu Musa Katsina were among the other Nigerians on the list.
Several football talents, including Mohamed Salah of Liverpool, his Senegalese teammate Sadio Mane, Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, and former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, rounded out the list.
Ahmad wrote: “President Muhammadu Buhari is the 16th most influential Muslim in the world.
“In the football world, Mohammed Salah, Sadio Mane, Paul Pogba, Zinedine Zidane are also in the list of Most Influential Muslims in the World.”
