Muhammad Lamido was appointed as the Executive Commissioner, Finance and Accounts, for the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission on Monday by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Buhari sent the name of Muhammad Lamido to the Senate, requesting that Lamido be confirmed in a “expeditious manner,” according to a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.
The statement is titled ‘President Buhari nominates Executive Commissioner for Board of Upstream Regulatory Commission.’
It read in part, “President Muhammadu Buhari has forwarded the name of Muhammad Sabo Lamido to the Senate as Executive Commissioner, Finance and Accounts, for the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission.
“In a letter addressed to the President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, the President said Lamido was being nominated due to the death of Hassan Gambo, who occupied the position until his demise.”
President Buhari, therefore, urged the Senate to confirm the nominee “in the usual expeditious manner.”
