President Muhammadu Buhari returned to Abuja on Friday after attending the 50th session of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in Nairobi, Kenya.
President Buhari, who arrived about 1 p.m., had left Abuja on Tuesday for the UNEP conference and was scheduled to travel to London for a medical check-up that would take up to two weeks.
While in Kenya, the president attended a Special Session to mark the United Nations’ body’s 50th anniversary.
Buhari had said: “As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of UNEP’s existence, we laud the efforts of UNEP and encourage broader action to overcome climate change, biodiversity, rising levels of pollution and waste being three major crises threatening our planet.
