Burundi’s Minister of Finance, Budget, and Economic Planning, Mr. Audace Niyonzima, said his president wished Nigerians and President Buhari a happy new year.
Additionally, he sent his best wishes for the nation’s upcoming general elections in February and March.
“We pray that the polls would be peaceful and successful so that Nigeria would maintain her reputation as a bastion of peace and stability,” the Special Envoy said.
President Buhari responded to the Burundian leader’s call for assistance in the field of energy provision, particularly petrol, by saying that he understood what it was like for a nation to have an energy scarcity.
Therefore, he made a commitment to getting the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd. to investigate the request.
