President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed a new Director-General for the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in the person of Dr. Ifedayo Morayo.
This followed the appointment of the current NCDC DG, Chikwe Ihekweazu, as an assistant Director-General of the World Health Organisation (WHO).
President Buhari’s senior media assistant, Garba Shehu, announced the change in a statement on Monday.
According to Shehu, the president also approved the establishment of a Health Sector Reform Committee to be headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
