The management of Primero Transport Company has reacted to the murder of Oluwabamise Ayanwola, a 22-year-old fashion designer who went missing after boarding a BRT bus in Lagos’ Chevron neighborhood.
The business noted in a statement posted on Sunday that its BRT buses do not run on the routes where the lady is reported to have been abducted.
Primero went on to say that the BRT services were run by many buses and that the viral video was not produced by the company.
The statement reads in part, “We take the safety and security of all commuters on Primero buses as a priority, and as such, this report is a concern to us.
“However, the alleged routes plied by the bus (Chevron/Lekki), is not operated by Primero Transport Services Limited.
“The alleged bus, identified in the video distributed on social media, is not owned or operated by Primero Transport Services Limited.”
Primero went on to say that numerous other businesses provide BRT services in Lagos, and that the Lagos State Government, through the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, assigns routes to them (LAMATA).
“Primero is assigned the Ikorodu to TBS and Oshodi to Abule Egba corridors. Our buses do not operate at Chevron/Lekki/Ajah.
“We are as concerned as the family and friends of Bamise Ayanwole, and we are hoping for positive news from authorities on her welfare,” the statement added.
