Senate President, Ahmed Lawan in a private meeting with Minister of Labour and Productivity, Senator Chris Ngige and minister of State of Labour and Productivity, Festus Keyamo.
Ngige has apologized to the National Assembly over the shouting between Keyamo and the Lawmakers days ago.
Ngige called for synergy between Lawmakers and the ministry for the progress of the Country. He also pleaded that the National Assembly should forgive his Minister of State.
It could be recalled that the minister last week, appeared before a joint Senate and House Committee on Labour to brief them on the Special Public Works Programme which seeks to recruit a total of 774,000 Nigerians across the Country.
The programme will employ 1,000 Nigerians in each of the Nation’s 774 Local Government areas, and is due to be implemented by the National Directorate of Employment (NDE).
Matters got to a head when the Legislators queried Keyamo on how he has handled the project so far and resulted in shouting.
