The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has ordered the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Bolaji Salami to immediately effect the restoration of the security details of the Deputy Governor of the State, Agboola Ajayi.
The directive was giving in a memo sent to the commissioner through the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Operations, Force Headquarters Abuja on Monday, June 29, 2020.
It will be recalled that the security aide of the Deputy Governor, Ajayi was withdrawn following his defection to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, from the All Progressive Congress, APC.
Ajayi who had earlier accused the commissioner of police of working on the instructions of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to withdraw the officers.
Also the Deputy Governor in a statement by his Media Aide, Mr. Babatope Okeowo, said “the integrity and courage displayed by the majority of the lawmakers for shunning all entreaties, inducement, and intimidation to impeach him was commendable”.
