InsightnaijaTV has just gathered that an Anambra-born federal lawmaker of the lower legislative chamber and a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who was also a gubernatorial aspirant of the forthcoming November 6-Anambra gubernatorial elections, Hon. Chris Emeka Azubogu has just escaped an assassination attempt by gunmen this evening of Thursday, September 30, 2021.
InsightnaijaTV learned that his driver was immediately shot dead in the official vehicle of the house of representative federal lawmaker when spotted. It was believed that the assassins thought that Mr. Azubogu was in the vehicle.
When contacted, Hon. Azubogu confirmed the incident but said he was safe.
He said his convoy went to pick him up at the airport but fortunately he was not with them when the assailants attacked them.
