Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom on Saturday, July 4, 2020 confirm his wife, Dr. Eunice Ortom and Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Anthony Ijohor tested positive for Coronavirus.
The Governor made the confirmation in a press briefing in Makurdi, noting that the Chief of staff, Hon. Terwase Orbunde and the State Head of Service, Mrs. Veronica Onyeke and others have tested positive for the virus.
Governor Ortom who said his own personal test result was negative but the first family have decided to go into isolation including himself.
“One lesson that I want many people to appreciate and understand is that everybody has to make himself available for testing, the more you test the more you know your status. When you know that you are positive then you can subject yourself to treatment”.
The Governor however said that the State Action Committee on Covid-19 would sit next week to decide in other to ascertain next line of action.
