LP presidential candidate Peter Obi’s supporters attacked Ben Murray-Bruce on Tuesday for tweeting about a remark the candidate made at the 62nd colloquium of the Nigerian Bar Association, which was held in Lagos on Monday, August 22, 2022.
The former governor of Anambra State, a guest speaker at the event, emphasised the necessity of focused leadership as a remedy for Nigeria’s challenges.
He believed that the nation was severely in need of reform and needed to be done in Nigerians’ best interests.
“Nigeria exhibits every sign of being a failed state. Insecurity has shattered us. We need visionary, articulate, and capable leadership if we as a nation are to move forward, Obi stated.
Bruce, who posted about the statement via his Twitter account, asserted that Peter Obi had endorsed Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by using the word “articulated.”
Obi’s fans, known as OBIdients, were upset by this interpretation because they thought the former lawmaker had gone too far.
