Victor Osimhen, a striker for Napoli, is the subject of a €120 million bid from German powerhouse Bayern Munich, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The 23-year-old Nigerian has been identified by the Bavarians as the ideal replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who is about to leave the Allianz Arena this summer.
Lewandowski, who has one year left on his contract, is eager to join Barcelona, one of the biggest clubs in Spain.
Osimhen has been a standout performer for the Partenopei since his move from Ligue 1 team Lille two years ago. The Partenopei is aware of the interest from other teams, but they are not willing to let him go for anything less than a transfer record-breaking €100m, having signed him for that sum.
The striker, who has three years left on his contract with Napoli, is apparently being pursued by Premier League clubs Arsenal, Manchester United, and Newcastle United.
In 51 league games for the Naples team, the Nigerian scored 24 goals and handed out eight assists.
Osimhen had a productive season last year, making 27 Serie A games, scoring 14 goals and dishing out five assists.
