The Bayelsa State Gubernatorial Petition Tribunal on Monday, August 17, 2020 sacked Governor Duoye Diri.
The tribunal ordered his sack, and also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to conduct a fresh election in the State within 90 days.
The Order which comes in less than 48 hours of dismissal of three of all other petitions filed against Governor.

The election which brought Governor Douye Diri to power was however, nullified as a result of a petition by the Advanced Nigeria Democratic Party, ANDP, arguing that it was illegally excluded from participating in poll.
