Armed gunmen kidnapped Very Rev Father Leo Raphael Ozigi, the Catholic Parish Priest of St Mary’s Catholic Church in Sarkin Pawa, Munya Local Government Area, Niger State, and 44 other villagers.
The catholic priest was abducted on his way to Gwada from Sarkin Pawa when he ran into robbers operating on the Sarkin Pawa-Gwada route, said Pastor Raphael Opawoye, the Secretary of the Niger State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, who confirmed the event.
“Very Rev Dr Leo Raphael Ozigi was kidnapped on Sunday on his way back to Gwada from Sarkin Pawa after the Sunday Service,” he said.
The bandits had already captured six communities in Munya Local Government over the weekend, causing inhabitants to flee, according to James Jagaba, the Secretary for Munya Local Government.
“The entire Munya Local Government is in disarray,” Jagaba remarked, describing the situation as “pathetic.” The situation is appalling in the neighborhood. Kidnapping is rampant across the local government.”
Abubakar Sani-Bello, the governor of Niger State, stated last week that new security chiefs have been assigned to the state to help solidify the ongoing operation against criminals.
When contacted for comment, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, the Police Public Relations Officer, did not return calls.

Hmm it seems like your site ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I had written and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to the whole thing. Do you have any suggestions for rookie blog writers? I’d certainly appreciate it.
